If a person has become incapacitated, hospitalized or is grieving the death of an immediate family member, they may be eligible to apply for an emergency absentee ballot from the General Registrar (deadline: 2:00pm on November 5th). Click here for details.
Your ballot needs to be returned by 7:00pm on Election Day November 6th.  Because the election is only a few days away, it is possible that a ballot sent by U.S. Postal Service would not be received by the deadline.
There are several other ways to submit your ballot by the deadline. You can:

  • Take your ballot to a drop box at the Fairfax County Government Center.
Drop boxes are located in two locations — one in the in-person absentee voting site and the other in the registrar’s office upstairs in Suite 323.

Address: 12000 Government Center Parkway
Fairfax, VA 22035
Hours: 8:00am – 7:00pm Mon-Fri; Saturday Nov. 3rd 9:00am – 5:00pm

  • Or, Take your ballot to either of the nine Satellite Locations and hand it in.
Satellite locations are open through this Friday from 3:00 – 7:00pm, and Saturday November 3rd from 9:00am – 5:00pm.  Locations:

Curbside voting is available so you don’t have to leave the car.
  • Or, Send your ballot using a fast or overnight shipping company such as FedEx, DHL or UPS.

If you have not received your absentee ballot, and you can get to a polling place (early or on Election Day), then go and vote in person even if you have no ballot.
