Gerry Connolly’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Fête
From Congressman Gerry Connolly:
Time for our annual St. Patrick’s Day Fête! Please join us on Friday March 15th for a night of Irish food, drink, and entertainment.
My wife Smitty and I started hosting our St. Patrick’s Day Fête in 1995 to bring good friends together for Irish food, drink, and entertainment. From a small gathering of a few dozen friends, it’s grown into the largest annual Democratic fundraiser in Virginia. It’s a wonderful opportunity to draw strength from one another and focus our efforts towards united progressive causes. For more than a decade, we hosted the fete at Kena Temple, but all good things must come to an end and we are excited to announce a new venue for 2019. This year, join us at Ernst Cultural Center at Northern Virginia Community College for all the festivities.
Like many of you, I am frightened by the direction that the Trump administration is trying to take our country. But with a Democratic majority in the House, we finally have some adult supervision of this president. With the majority in the House, we Democrats can finally work to protect the rule of law and the democratic values that our country was built upon. We have a difficult road ahead to undo what Trump and Republican lawmakers have done, but we know giving up is not an option.
It is more important now than ever for Democrats to stand united, and there is no better time for us to come together than for St. Patrick’s Day. We have the opportunity to share our ideas and rededicate ourselves to progressive principles.
With your help, we can defend the progressive values that strengthen our nation, hold the Trump administration accountable for his destructive policies, and fight for Northern Virginia families.
