Trump-Comstock Tax Bill Responsible for Federal Pay Freeze
Massive tax cuts for the wealthy lead to smaller paychecks for middle-class federal employees
Donald Trump and Barbara Comstock have cancelled Fairfax County residents’ scheduled pay raises in order to cut taxes for the very richest among us. Comstock’s feigned outrage is laughable, since she enthusiastically voted for the GOP tax bill which caused this mess.
In a recent letter to Congress, Trump cited “budgetary concerns” as his rationale for denying a small and long-overdue 2.1% pay raise for federal employees. This is a DIRECT result of the GOP tax scam, since those massive tax cuts must be paid for by slashing the budget.
In other words, the massive $1.5 trillion deficit incurred by Trump’s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is to be paid for by slashing the earned pay raises of federal employees. More specifically, Fairfax County residents are to bear the brunt of Barbara Comstock’s and Donald Trump’s flagrant fiscal and economic mismanagement.
