Dinner & Discussion: Labor and the Democrats with Dan Duncan
Labor has long been an integral part of the Democratic Party. Organized labor has been under assault for decades, diminishing its ability to help workers improve their living standards. It is not a coincidence that the decline of organized labor tracks the increase in income inequality and stagnating wages for most Americans.
What can we Democrats do about this, especially in a “Right to Work” state like Virginia? How can we work more closely with organized labor to elect Democrats who can turn this around? What are the priorities of organized labor and how can we help?
Come discuss these issues, and more, with Dan Duncan, the President of NOVA Labor. He will give a short presentation and leave plenty of time for discussion.
This month our Dinner & Discussion event is being co-hosted by the Providence & Braddock Democrats, and is being held at Brion’s Grille in University Mall across from the GMU campus.
Date: Sunday, July 20, 2014

The only cost for this event is your dinner. We have arranged a special buffet of four entrees (including Brion’s Grille famous fried chicken) and four sides for only $13 (plus tax and tip). RSVPs are required if you will be having the buffet and must be received by July 17. You can still attend without a RSVP, but you may not be able to take advantage of the buffet and service may be slower as the restaurant will be staffing according to our projections. Please bring cash.
