Voter Registration Deadline for November 5 General Election (To vote a regular ballot)

Voter Registration Deadline, online or by mail: October 15

• 11:59 p.m. online, or postmarked by mail on or before October 15.
• Register online using the Virginia Department of Election’s Citizen portal.
• Download a voter registration application.

Voter Registration Deadlines, in Person

• Through October 15 at 5:00 PM: Register at the Fairfax County Office of Elections.
• October 16 – November 2:  Voters may register at an early voting location and vote a provisional ballot.
• On November 5, Election Day, voters may only register at the precinct in which they reside and vote a provisional ballot. 
• Members of a uniformed service of the United States on active duty and their spouse and dependents residing with them and anyone who resides temporarily outside of the United States are entitled to extended provisions and alternative methods for voter registration. Contact the Fairfax County Office of Elections for information.
